The Final Stop

A proud tribute to South Australia's Merino heritage

About the Big Ram

To finish our trip, we went to the Big Ram in Karoonda, South Australia, which is a 2 metre tall concrete and fibreglass monument. Built in 1997, it honours the region's Merino sheep industry and is modelled after a 1996 Adelaide Show Champion ram.

Why This Stop Matters

The Big Ram represents the agricultural strength of the Murray Mallee region. It stands as a symbol of the hardworking communities that built South Australia's wool industry.
